Pool Care Guides & FAQ

Everything you need to know about maintaining a clean, safe pool in Singapore.

๐Ÿ“– How to Test Your Pool Water in 3 Minutes

Even if you've never done it before, this guide walks you through the process:

  1. Grab a test strip from your 4-in-1 or 6-in-1 pack.
  2. Dip the strip into pool water at elbow depth. Swirl gently for 2 seconds.
  3. Remove and hold flat for 15 seconds. Don't shake off excess water.
  4. Compare colours on the strip to the chart on the bottle.
  5. Check the dosing guide to see if you need to add anything.

That's it! Test 2โ€“3 times per week, or daily after heavy rain or pool parties.

๐Ÿงด The 4 Most Important Pool Numbers

You don't need to be a chemist. Just keep these 4 numbers in range:

If all four are in range, your water is safe and clear. If one is off, your dosing guide tells you exactly what to add.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ Training Your Maid: The 15-Minute Daily Routine

Your helper doesn't need pool knowledge โ€” just a simple routine:

  1. Every Morning (5 min): Skim surface with net. Remove leaves and bugs.
  2. Twice a Week (5 min): Test water with strip. Follow dosing guide to add chemicals.
  3. Once a Week (5 min): Brush walls and floor. Add algaecide.

That's the entire routine. Print our Laminated Routine Cards and stick them near the pool equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I test my pool water?โ–ผ
Test chlorine and pH 2โ€“3 times per week. After heavy rain or a pool party, test immediately. Alkalinity and hardness can be tested monthly.
Can my maid really maintain the pool herself?โ–ผ
Absolutely! That's exactly what our Essential Maid's Kit is designed for. With the laminated routine card and simple dosing guide, any helper can maintain a clean pool. Thousands of Singapore households do this successfully.
My pool is green. What do I do first?โ–ผ
Don't panic. First, shock the pool with chlorine granules (150g per 10,000L). Run the pump continuously for 24 hours. Add algaecide. Then add clarifier to clear the cloudiness. Test daily until chlorine is stable at 1โ€“3 ppm.
What's the difference between chlorine tablets and granules?โ–ผ
Tablets dissolve slowly (5โ€“7 days) for continuous sanitisation. Granules dissolve in minutes for quick boosts or shock treatments. Most pool owners use both: tablets for daily maintenance, granules for shock dosing.
Is it safe to mix different pool chemicals?โ–ผ
Never mix chemicals directly. Always add one chemical at a time, with the pump running, and wait at least 30 minutes between different chemicals. Never mix chlorine with acid โ€” this creates toxic gas.
How do I know which filter cartridge fits my pool?โ–ผ
Take a photo of your current cartridge or filter housing and send it to us via WhatsApp (+65 8123 4567). We'll identify the model and recommend the correct replacement. Our "Help Me Find My Filter" service is free.
